The ‘Invisible’ Makeup Look Grace Kelly Swore By
What’s your favorite makeup look?
Whether it’s bronzed & glowing, soft & neutral, a dark smokey eye, or a classic red lip — I think they’re all gorgeous. But my favorite?
You may know it as “no makeup” makeup.
This minimal technique subtly enhances your features and evens out your complexion. But it looks like you’re not wearing makeup…
As if you woke up looking naturally fresh, radiant, and youthful.
(Think Grace Kelly’s or Julie Andrews’ understated look.)
In fact, models and celebrities use these tricks all the time. But you don’t have to be a pro to pull it off.
Here are some of my easiest tips:
How to “Fake” a No-Makeup Day
(But Still Look Gorgeous and Put Together)
Skip heavy foundation to avoid a “cakey” finish and makeup settling into lines.
Instead, use concealer to even out and brighten your complexion in “problem areas” while preserving the look of fresh, natural skin. Target these areas:
1. Redness around the nose and mouth
2. Darkness under the eyes
(Now that her most prominent shadows are covered, her features also look more lifted!)
Pro Tip: Always moisturize before applying concealer to help it blend seamlessly into your skin and look undetectable.
Powder blush can exaggerate texture and make skin look flat. For a supple, radiant flush — apply a small amount of cream blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend with your fingertips.
Instead of looking like your blush is sitting on top of your cheeks, it’ll look like you’re glowing from within.
Pro Tip: No cream blush? Use a creamy lipstick. Dab the lipstick on your cheeks and blend with your fingers. You can even wear the same color on your lips for a chic monochromatic look.
Invisible Eyeliner aka “Tightlining”
Instead of applying liner above your lash line, rim the upper waterline with a dark brown pencil. This “hides” your makeup, for soft definition and fuller-looking lashes.
(It feels funny at first but the results look AMAZING.)
Pro Tip: Use a waterproof pencil liner to prevent smudges.
These three invisible makeup tricks instantly brighten your skin tone and enhance your eye shape… without looking “overdone.”
Don’t get me wrong, a full face of makeup can look very beautiful and glamorous… but subtle touches that let your natural beauty shine through are just as gorgeous.
So, when you want that understated, Grace Kelly-inspired, “natural beauty” look — I hope you give these tips a try.
