Thicker, Stronger Hair Starts With Your Starbucks Order
As the years go on, good hair days take more effort to achieve — but I know I’m not alone.
Because with age your hair naturally becomes thinner, duller, and growth starts to slow down.
But hair is a huge piece of identity for so many women — especially since healthy, thick hair is such a classic symbol of youth.
And it’s upsetting when hair stops looking how you want it to…
Luckily, I recently stumbled across a study about a household staple that is excellent at boosting hair growth and halting hair loss!
It even makes hair shinier, smoother, and younger looking.
And believe it or not, this hair rejuvenating ingredient is Coffee.
According to a study published in the International Journal of Dermatology, the caffeine in coffee is able to stimulate hair follicles… 1
Leading to faster and stronger hair growth.
Plus, coffee blocks the effects of DHT — the by-product of testosterone which causes hair follicles to shrink and eventually disappear.2
Meaning coffee could even prevent baldness!
Not to mention, it’s rich with antioxidants — helping fight off free radicals that stunt hair growth.
And even if you’re not worried about growth, coffee’s still a worthwhile hair treatment.
For starters, its low pH level closes hair cuticles… giving you shiny, soft locks.
And its grainy texture makes it an effective exfoliator.
So, it’ll help remove any build up of excess dead skin cells, oil, or product on your scalp.
But the best way to get yourself these awesome benefits isn’t from your morning cup of coffee.
It’s actually by putting coffee straight on your head!

Victoria’s ‘Rise and Shine’ Coffee Hair Mask
Grab these ingredients:
- 2 tbsp of ground coffee beans (freshly ground or instant)
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1 raw egg
Here’s how you do it:
- Start by scooping coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl or dish. Microwave the coconut oil at 10 second intervals until melted.
- Mix coconut oil with coffee grounds in a bowl until they’re fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the raw egg.
- Fully combine the egg with the coffee & coconut oil mixture.
- Working in sections, apply the mask to your hair from root to tip.
- Once your hair is fully coated, massage the mask into your scalp for one to two minutes for added scalp exfoliation.
- Let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse out and shampoo and condition normally.
The first time I tried this mask my hair was smoother and so much shinier.
It’s so simple, and a great addition to your hair care routine — I like to do it every other week.
Plus, it’ll make your bathroom smell amazing.
One thing to keep in mind: if you have lighter, or even color-treated hair the coffee could temporarily stain.
Brunettes often use it to enhance their color — but it might not be ideal for those with blonde or white hair.
